Joseline Amutuhaire
Co-Project Coordinator
Born and raised in Uganda, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Ethics and Development in Uganda in 2007. In 2022, I completed my Master's degree in European Integration with a focus on East Central Europe at Chemnitz University of Technology. I immediately started working at the same university as a research assistant in the DemoDes (Democracy on the Brink) project until the end of 2022, a project that focused on current global issues of computer literacy, anti-feminism, democracy, migration and Europe/pandemic.
My connection to Africa/Uganda has never waned as in 2013 I founded an association called Orutindo which helps Ugandan children get school fees, school materials, medicines, food, clothes etc. To this day, I am still a volunteer chairperson of this organisation. During my Master's degree, I felt the need to become more involved in civil society and completed the ESD training programme at Integrationsgemeinschaft ausländischer Erwerbstätiger (IAE) e.V. in Chemnitz. Since then, I have also worked partly as a freelance diversity consultant on the topics of: Migration, colonialism/post-colonialism, feminism/anti-feminism, African music, team building and the topic of Africa/Uganda.
I am delighted that I have now been working as co-coordinator since May 2023 on this wonderful project "SDG - Saxony thinks globally - Uganda and Saxony well networked", which aims to connect civil societies from Uganda and Saxony, exchange ideas and at the same time learn from each other.
